Edgewood Library News Summer is here and that means sleeping late, playing with friends, vacations, lots of extra family time and many other wonderful things that only summer brings. It's also the time where "summer setback" can happen. Please help your child stay on track this summer by encouraging him/her to read a "just right" book for at least 20 minutes everyday. You don't have to go out and purchase brand new books to keep your child reading. There are many ways to keep your child in books this summer:Public libraries, garage sales, Goodwill stores and swapping with a friend are just a few ideas to put books in a child's hand. And don't forget our Wild for Books Reading Bus that runs every week during the summer. Let's bring our kids back to school in the fall on the same level in which they left. Wouldn't that be awesome?
Whatever you have planned for this summer, whether it's traveling or just enjoying our beautiful West Michigan area, I hope you all have a safe, enjoyable and family filled summer vacation. As for me, I plan on reading at least 15 books before I return to work in August. Will I make it? I sure hope so and remember, READING ROCKS!! Happy Reading Mrs. Finn rlfinn@fruitportschools.et 231-865-4068
