Special Education
Open to: 9-12 Credits: 1.5 Duration: Three Terms
Resource English 9 A, B, C- In the Resource English 9 course, students focus on developing important communication skills-reading/viewing, writing, speaking, listening, and research. They read and respond to fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama organized into thematic units. Students will work to increase vocabulary and improve grammar skills. Instruction is adapted to meet the individual needs of the student.
Open to: 10-11 Credits: 1.50 Duration: Three Terms
Resource English 10 A, B, C- Students will continue to work on strengthening and expanding communication skills, including reading/viewing, writing, listening, and speaking while structured around traditional readings in literature as well as novels. Instruction is adapted to meet the individual needs of the student.
Open to: 11 Credits: 1.50 Duration: Three Terms Resource English 11 A, B, C- In the Resource English 11 course, students will study of a variety of American literary works, emphasizing important themes in American history and society. Students will continue working to improve their communication and reading skills through reading and writing in a number of genres. In addition, students will also work to improve research and presenting skills throughout the trimester. Instruction is adapted to meet the individual needs of the student.
Open to: 12 Credits: 1.50 Duration: Three Terms
Resource English 12 A,B,C- This course is designed to introduce the student to real world reading and writing. Topics to be covered include resume writing, consumer correspondence, reading and understanding utility bills, product warranties and other every day opportunities for reading and writing.
Open to: 9-10 Credits: .5 Duration: One Term Resource World History A (Ancient)- World History is a comprehensive historical study designed to provide students with a vital understanding of the past to help them understand their own times. Emphasis will be on place, time, and significance in the continuity of history. Individualized Education Plan goals and short-term objectives will be addressed through modified General Education World History A content and curriculum.
Open to: 11 Credits: . 5 Duration: One Term Resource World History B (Modern)- World History is a comprehensive historical study designed to provide students with a vital understanding of the past to help them understand their own times. Emphasis will be on place, time, and significance in the continuity of history. Individualized Education Plan goals and short-term objectives will be addressed through modified General Education World History B content and curriculum.
Open to: 9-12 Credits: 1.5 Duration: 3 Terms Resource Algebra 1- Algebra I is an introductory course in methods of solving equations. Individualized Education Plan goals and short-term objectives will be addressed through modified General Education Algebra content and curriculum.
Open to: 9-12 Credits: 1.5 Duration: 3 Terms Resource Geometry- This course introduces the student to logical reasoning and facts about geometric figures and relationships. Individualized Education Plan goals and short-term objectives will be addressed through modified General Education Geometry content and curriculum.
